Our AI Photobooth starts out similarly, but then unexpected things happen. You are suddenly somewhere else. Or even someone else. And what happened to your group?
With the AI Photobooth, you will be able to experience the strange possibilities of generative AI. And by giving you more control and insight into the process, you will come to understand the models behind it better.

What does the experience look like?
Stap 1: Take a picture
The experience starts with taking a photo. On your own– or even more fun – with your family, friends or colleagues.
Stap 2: give the AI intructions
The next step is choosing different elements for your prompt. And you can choose how close the AI should stay to your original photo.
Then you put the AI to work and see the result. During this progress, we explain the various steps the AI takes.
Stap 3: Check the result
The AI’s work is complete and has transformed your photo into a completely different style, placing you in an entirely new world!
Wonder and lots of laughter are what we often see during this stage.
Stap 4: Take your print
With our professional printer, visitors receive a print within half a minute.
A lasting memento of the unique experience, which we can fully customize to match your brand identity.

Where do we operate?
We operate from Leiden, the Netherlands. We visit events throughout the Netherlands and internationally. From small gatherings with fewer than fifty people to large-scale events with thousands of visitors.

(1) Fully Catered
The most popular choice is the ‘Fully Catered’ option, where we take complete care of the AI Photobooth for your event.
We provide the installation, set it up, and have one of our experts on-site during the event to invite visitors to make use of the Photobooth, provide explanations, and even start a conversation about AI.
In our experience, the ‘Fully Catered’ option is the best format for a conference, cultural festival, study day, or corporate event.
(2) Stand-Alone
For events like trade shows or multi–day festivals, it is more convenient deploying the AI Photobooth without our experts.
This is of course not a problem, the hardware and software are robust and easy-to-use for visitors.
During setup or in advance, we explain how the installation works and how you can make adjustments if needed.
For trade shows, we can also fully integrate the installation into the design of the booth.

About our Design
'Dutch Design'
The entire AI Photobooth has been fully designed and developed by the team from the VR Learning Lab.
The concept and prototype were independently developed in June 2023. Since then, we’ve gone through many iterations, continuously improving the software and user experience.
This gives us complete control over the project, allowing us to make any adjustments for custom assignments.
Local & Safe
The generative AI of the AI Photobooth runs completely locally.
We work with our own AI workflows based on, among other things, StableDiffusion. Therefore, we do not send data to international servers, nor do we use the photos to train an AI model.
Only for QR codes and emailing the photos do we store the images on our own secure web server.
So this means that no internet connection is required for taking and printing pictures.

By giving AI space in the physical world, we allow a broad audience, from young to old, to engage and learn more about A
Because the photobooth is often used together with other people, we frequently see interesting social interactions.
This aligns the AI Photobooth with our mission and research focus.
Ambition
We have big ambitions to bring the unique experiences offered by our social AI installations to as many people as possible.
Our software is scalable, and we are working on professional hardware that can be shipped internationally.
This hardware can run the software for our AI Photobooth, as well as live AI software, like in the Magic Mirror!
